Cha Duri[1] (Hangul: 차두리), also known as Kory Char in English Version, is one of the main characters in Tobot: Daedo's Heroes and the Tobot series. He is the younger twin of Ryan and the pilot of Tobot Y.
He often speaks and acts before he thinks, but has a brilliant and whimsical mind that allows him to weasel his way out of trouble. He rarely shows Ryan respect, as he finds his brother too composed and boring. However, once their father goes missing, along with other new threats and dangers they face, Kory starts to rely on his brother more and more.
Appearance[]
Kory's hair is sandy, short, and messy. His eyes are brown. He has a moderately light skin tone and is slightly shorter than his twin.
Outfit[]
In early seasons, Kory wears a yellow shirt with beige pants and brown boots with a red strap. He also wears red fingerless gloves that stretch from his elbows all the way to his hands. In later seasons, he instead wears a white shirt with a red emblem, a yellow and green sleeveless jacket, brown pants, and red and white sneakers. In Daedo's Heroes, he wears white and yellow sneakers with jeans and a yellow hoodie.

Personality[]
Kory can only be described as a class clown. He will take any opportunity he can to show off, even nearly revealing his identity as a Tobot Pilot for attention. Kory is also a slacker, frequently putting off homework to have fun. He loves playing soccer. He can be described as goofy, with large amounts of joking and fooling around.
To his credit, however, Kory demonstrates a sharp mind to compliment brother's analytical nature. In their first encounter with Zero, he recognized the machine's likeness to the Tobots X and Y, and theorized that Limo was likely behind the vehicular attacks. His emotional intelligence, while not complete, seems to be slightly more developed than his brother's. He's street smart and knows what he wants, with confidence in himself and his partners.
Kory has the trait of being highly suspicious of others around him and jumping to conclusions. When he first met Dylan, he had a bias against him due to the attention he garnered. Upon further investigation, he accused Dylan of being a spy due to his background, even kicking open Dylan's bedroom door in an effort to reveal his "secret operation". He eventually apologized for his actions, but not before making numerous attempts to hurt him and Z. Kory also blamed Dolly for the mishap with D's Mind Core. After she began crying, Kory looked abashed.
On other occasions, Kory has shown discrimination toward Diluk, for his weight, and Layla's mother, who was from Vietnam and had poor Korean skills and a thick accent. He also bullied and argued with both Nathan and his brother, Timmy, which negatively impacted Timmy's health. All of these issues were resolved with apologies and resolutions.
Kory has shown to be a convincing actor, mainly for comedic reasons (such as faking his blackout during his first ride in Adventure Y). Otherwise, he scrambles under pressure, coming off as irrational and raising his voice to prove a point (such as when he tried to report Coach Kook's kidnapping). He's stubborn about his views, even if they don't make logical sense or come from a place of little reasoning.
He is shown to be defensive and even turn a blind eye to the misdeeds of his loved ones. For example, he defended Neon to the very end when he was nominated for the Quatran captain, and defended Neon's selfishness and crude actions. When Nathan took over as a considerably better captain, Kory blamed Nathan for Neon's leave.
Although his poor personality traits are far and wide, he still has some good ones, such as unwavering loyalty, trust in others, confidence, and an ability to socialize, connect, and empathize with others that remains unique to his character. He is shown to be simply a young boy, with interests in video games, sports, and popularity like any kid his age should have. He retains a positive outlook on life despite his past experiences, and is never downbeat or too sad. Kory makes friends with everyone and usually does not antagonize people who seem to be outwardly friendly.
Relationships[]
Ryan[]
Kory and Ryan have a traditional friendly sibling rivalry. While Kory influences Ryan to be more irrational and goofy on occasion, Ryan's rationality and cool also rubs off a little on Kory. While they rarely agree, years of the piloting X and Y and growing up together created a strong bond between the two. They have unmatched teamwork and tend to agree on larger issues. They both share love for both of their parents, with soft spots regarding their mother.
Ryan is often dragging Kory back down to earth, while Kory often expands on Ryan's narrow mindset. Together, they clash and compliment each other in such a way as to create a one-of-a-kind dynamic.
Franklin[]
Kory and Franklin have a normal father/son relationship, but Kory's eagerness to show off sometimes gets on Franklin's nerves. Despite this, Franklin still loves his son dearly.
Dolly[]
They are classmates and also neighbours, he and Dolly often have arguments due to their contrasting personalities, but despite this, they still work efficiently as a team.[2] In the early seasons, Kory often took Dolly along on Tobot Y.
Dylan[]
During the beginning, they disliked each other because Dylan was the son of a criminal. However, always in the end, they resolved it, they later become friends, they often argued about some small issues because of different thinking. Later, they formed a team in the second season, and they usually play sports together, like Soccer and Basketball. With Ryan, they used to be roommates.
Nathan[]
At first, they seem to be enemies because he exposed Nathan's lie about Tobot Titan. But when they started to understand each other better, they became good friends. Though, Kory has a tendency to blame him, especially during Quatran's Arc and Neon's departure.
Neon[]
Kory is the closest to Neon, he admired him very much when he was revealed as Red Rider, aka the mysterious hero. They learned that they had a lot in common. Even though Neon was working for Acnee, Neon eventually turned on Acnee and saved Kory from falling into the ocean.
Liam[]
He gets annoyed with Liam because he snores in his sleep (as do Dylan and Ryan), but unlike the other two, he is always mean to him. After Liam and Tobot K save Tobot Y, he accepts him and the two often become teammates in the later episode.
Han[]
Like Dylan and Ryan, Kory is like a big brother to Han. He likes to tease him.
Etymology[]
"Duri" is a common, unisex Korean name. Kory shares a name with the famous Korean soccer player, Cha Du-ri.
Kory shares a motif in his Korean name that corresponds with Hana, Semo, Neong, and Ogong, in that his name is based off of a number. "Duri" contains the Korean word, 둘 (dur), which means two. "Duri" is also a homophone of "둘이", meaning "two people" or "a couple". Duri is an indigenous Korean name, which makes it unique from other Sino-Korean names.[3]

- This paranoia was not addressed after the twins managed to get their father back.

- In Heroes of Daedo City, he is shown to covet the Rescue Trio, but minimizes his greed so as to not hurt Y's feelings; a stark contrast from his single-minded pursuit of Tobot W in earlier seasons.
