You think disappearing forever is what's best for Ryan? I don't! If I even had a chance to see Kory again, then getting crushed into scrap metal won't stop me!

— Tobot Y, Misleading Manuevers (Korean)

Tobot Y is the guardian robot Franklin Char created for Kory. His strengths include quick calculations and swift movement. However, because of his rash personality, he tries to take shortcuts, therefore clashing with the steadier Tobot X.

Tobot Y's most noticeable personality traits would be his laid back nature and joking demeanor, much like his partner Kory. He is rash and doesn't tend to think before he acts. He is also based a lot around his fast speed, seeing how he really enjoys being fast. He is also sometimes rather dumb but sometimes he is actually smart with ideas and can do lots of damage

Appearance[]

Tobot Y's original appearance is mainly themed around the colors Blue and white, with hints of red and orange. In later upgrades, shades of gray and silver take over. After Season 1 episode "Brushes and Bikers," X and Y receive evolution upgrades, X always stayed in his original color which was orange. For Y it was a different story, After the evolution upgrades were first showcased, Y was a dark navy blue colored sports car with a red crystal like thing on his forehead. In episode "Gauges and Gross-Outs," Y received a repaint. Changing the dark navy Blue to a more Cyan color. Y also does not seem to have his red crystal on his forehead anymore. Starting in season 2 and onwards until Y's adventure upgrade, Y received minor changes. His feet now resemble athlete shoes and his chest containing the button used in the toy. After getting heavily injured by a Diluk controlled W, Y was in need of a major repair. This is where the Adventure upgrade comes in. Now Y turns into a navy dark blue helicopter with a pilot's helmet and a more skinny upper body. His legs became beefy, using the front of the helicopter as his feet and now holds a cockpit for Kory and for other people to sit in. In the new Daedo's Heroes series, Y has returned to being a car, this time a Hyundai Avante Elantra, his color has returned to his original dark blue and has a very sleek athletic build, his arms and body especially, Just like the other tobots except the Rescue Crew, Y can now exit his robot mode as a small chibi version of himself to interact with Kory.

Relationships[]

Seeing as how Tobot Y is a robot, it would be hard to determine relationships, but it would be easy to assume that he and Tobot X would be something akin to siblings as Kory and Ryan, their human counterparts, are twins. Tobot Y is rather competitive with X at first, but their playful joking show a lot of care.

As for fully determined relationships, he is partners/friends with Kory. He and Kory have extremely similar personalities, and they get along like two peas in a pod. When Kory is in trouble, Y does get very serious in protecting him and can use a lot of tactics to fend off the bad guys to rescue him.

Abilities[]

In his original form, Tobot Y can combine with X and Z to form Tobot Titan or Tobot Tritan. As Adventure Y, he takes over Tobot W's role in the skies, and is the first Tobot of his kind to have an airborne vehicle mode. Adventure Y can combine with the other Tobots to form Giga 7. Although it is unknown if Y can still integrate into Tritan with Z and X depends on gig. Y makes up the booster and the Giga falcon of Giga 7 as he is very important to the Tobot.

Y's signature trait is his speed. He's generally been labelled as the fastest of the Tobots in the main series, even in his base form. As such, his attack prefix is "Sonic", though a few skills deviate from this.

Y is weaponless in his base and Evolution forms, but possesses an Airbag, which can be used for defensive purposes (although unused, his first toy had a gun weapon). In his Adventure form, his main propeller acts as the Sonic Blade, which acts as a shield. Y is very strong and very fast and agile in battle.

Movesets[]

  • Sonic Kick: Y activates his turbo speed in robot form and jumps does a front flip and kicks the enemy 60 times in the body while yelling goofy weird yells
  • Ultra Turbo/Sonic Turbo: Y's spurt skill that allows him to move at high speeds in his car form. In his base form, the Ultra Turbo drains a lot of energy and can render him completely motionless afterwards.
  • Sonic Stealth: Y turns invisible, letting him sneak up on enemies. It hasn't been used in Adventure mode, though there's no reason to believe that he can't actually use it.
  • Sonic Shield: Seemingly exclusive to the Evolution upgrade, Y forms an energy barrier around himself and his allies. It's similar to Tritan's Shield-On and X's Power Shield.
  • Thunderbolt: Y's main projectile move, added in his Adventure upgrade. The Sonic Blade collapses into just two blades and creates an energy bolt, which Y can throw at opponents.it can do a lot of damge as proven it did a lot of damage to tyrant 2 in diluk diluted and the episode before that forcing the bot to reatreat
  • Sonic Storm: Y unleashes a gust of wind from the Sonic Blade to clear away mist. It's quite like Titan's Hurricane Spin.it can hlp fend off incoming projectile
  • Sonic Propeller: Y uses his bladed as a shield spinning it very fast so it can act like a shield it can also cause damage to bots making scaratches on them
  • Sonic Spin: Added in his rebuild in the sequel series; Y curls up into a ball shape and rotates rapidly, allowing him to bounce and steamroll over enemies. This attack can be used in a double-team maneuver with Tobot X, who can use his Power Spike attack to added more energy, allowing Y to cause more damage to the enemy.
  • Power Sonic Twister: Y does a handstand on X's shoulders before spreading his legs, with both Tobots spinning rapidly to generate a vortex that traps opponents that get too close.

Trivia[]

Background[]

Notes[]

  • In early episodes of Tobot, Y's cheeks were colored blue and the letter y on his waist was colored red. in later episodes featuring his original form, the y on the waist and his cheeks were colored orange.
  • Likewise, his evolution form was the same shade of blue as his original form when he first appeared in Korean season 6, but changed to cyan season 7 afterwards with no explanation, presumably due to the animation update, which gave many pre-existing characters a brighter and more reflective appearance. His first coloration may be seen on a few pieces of merchandise. As another key note, a good part of Y's evolution form had grey parts, particularly in the forearms, pelvis and calves. This were changed to blue in the new update, which also recolored his dark grey parts a lighter shade, and the front of his car mode hung down like a buttflap in addition to gaining wheels on his feet.
